Mike has over 25 years experience in field/research geophysics. He established Southern Geophysical Ltd. in 2002. Mike's has BSc (1989) in microelectronics and engineering physics, a MSc in exploration geophysics (1997) and a PhD in geology (2004). Mike has worked in Europe, North America, Antarctica and all across New Zealand. With decades of professional experience and with his academic background, Mike is highly skilled at determining the geophysical solution that is right for you and your project. Publications
Rebecca received her BSc in Geology and Chemistry from the University of Canterbury and then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Geology. Rebecca specialises in data processing and analysis, especially for Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) and GPR and has specialist knowledge with geophysical software packages such as Surfer, Reflex W and CAD packages. When not working Rebecca enjoys hiking and travelling.
Nick received his BSc in Geology and Geography from the University of Canterbury in 2013 in Geology. Nick has several years experience working in the geophysics industry and specialises in data acquisition and processing and analysis for GPR. Outside work hours Nick spends most of his time mountain biking, where he has represented New Zealand and has taken him around the world.
Richard received his BSc in Geology from the University of Canterbury in 2014, then went on to gain a Masters of Science in Geology. Richard is an outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys a wide array of activities in the elements including climbing and surfing.
Saff is part-way through a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Canterbury and has recently started working with SGL. Saff manages multiple roles at SGL including being our Health and Safety Manager. Outside SGL, Saff is a rock climbing Instructor and route setter at a local climbing gym.
Sam received his BSc. in Geology and Geography from the University of Canterbury in 2014, and is currently pursuing PhD. studies in marine geology/geophysics. Over the course of his studies, Sam has worked in geological/geophysical surveys on and offshore, including seafloor surface fault mapping following the 2016 Kaikoura earthquakes. Outside of work and study Sam is a keen outdoorsman, where he can be found mountain biking and tramping around New Zealand
